American Dreams is an American television Play program broadcast on the NBC television network, produced by A Frog and Dick Clark Productions in association with Universal Network Television and NBC Studios. Jonathan Prince created the series and manufactured by Prince and Josh Goldstein. The latter was one of those executive manufacturers with Dick Clark. It debuted on September 29, 2002. The series is set mostly in Philadelphia. It aired at 8:00 pm Eastern time, but moved to the third season finale from March 9, 2005, to the identical time on Wednesdays. The series tells the story of the Pryor family of Philadelphia throughout the mid-1960s. Season one takes place at 1963--season 2 at 1964, 64 --season three at 1965, and 65 --66. When it debuted in Australia, 14, the series had been understood as Our Generation it was changed back to American Dreams when it came back for the season. The theme song"Generation" was first written and played by Emerson Hart, lead singer of the band Tonic. Hart was earned an ASCAP award for the Best Theme Song of Video by the tune . The series was the 2003 TV Land Awards"Future Vintage" winner.
