The Guild is a classical humor web series written and created . It was released on YouTube on July 27, 2007. Seasons two webisodes premiered on MSN Video, Zune Market Place, along with Microsoft's Xbox Live Market Place. The webisodes were made available on YouTube, the state Guild website, along with iTunes. As stated by Day, the business model of Microsoft shifted after season five. Day desired to maintain ownership, so the episode premieres moved to the YouTube channel Geek & Sundry of Day. The webisodes will also be available via streaming and DVD on Hulu along with Netflix. The show revolves around the lifetime of a gamers' guild, The Knights of Good, who play hours of a fantasy MMORPG video game. The story centers around Codex, the guild's Priestess, who tries to lead an ordinary life after one of her guild mates turns up on her door step. Joss Whedon credits The Guild among those inspirations for Dr. Horrible's Sing along Website, which also starred Felicia Day. The sixth season expired on Sundry & Geek on October 2, 2012. In a telephone interview after the season's conclusion, Felicia Day confirmed that The Guild webseries is complete.
